Our Mission Statement:

Foggy Coast is committed to bringing quality Internet access, telecomunications service and retail computer sales to the North Coast.

Our Business Model:

We are a "value added reseller" for internet access. Today co-branding and reselling is common in the competitive Internet market. To compete in the ISP market we researched several companies to provide us with dial-up access for our customers. We originally chose InReach Internet because of their committment to statewide service to California. Because of the high costs of a dedicated circuit into the communities on the North Coast, Inreach discontinued service to our area. We then decided to contract with a company who provided access to the UUNET POP in Crescent City. UUNET is one of the major nationwide backbone providers in the United States. Locally they provide access to many large national internet service providers including Earthlink, MSN and Verizon Internet. We share the same local dial up number with several major ISPs. This puts Foggy Coast Internet in the position to provide reliable quality service to our area.

The company we contracted with provides technical support to our customers. Technical support is being outsourced more and more by ISPs. It is very cost effective way of providing quality service to customers. These technical support centers are an excellent value added service for customers.

To continue to provide quality service we decided initially not to open a physical storefront. We consider our web sites our storefronts. Many national ISPs do not have a physical store in every town. We operate in a similiar fashion, but with a twist, we are local and part of your community.

Our History:

CrescentCity95531.com was created by the "Original" Crescent City Online. Crescent City Online was the first windows based graphical service in Crescent City. In 1995 we were a full service BBS offering chat, online games, forums (including a forum by the Crescent City Police Department), file downloads and much more. After the Internet arrived in Crescent City we closed down the BBS and built the web site Crescent City Online.

In December 1999 we applied for the domain name CrescentCity95531.com. We welcome you to our new domain and invite you to browse our website and sign up for your own FREE CrescentCity95531.com web based email. Our free email service is similiar to Hotmail and other web based email services.

Beginning in February 2000 we became the first local Internet Service Provider to partner with a company that offered nationwide access on one of the nation's largest Internet backbones. December 2001 Foggy Coast Internet partnered with Cognigen Network Inc. We changed our Internet service to bring the North Coast the best low cost Internet Access available today. What this means to our local community is the ability to receive reliable access to the Internet, the ability to roam nationwide, and to be able to access your account with a local phone call from most areas of the United States.

More importantly, Foggy Coast Internet seen a need to support our local community. Shop online through one of our site's affiliates and help us in supporting our local community! Profits earned by Foggy Coast Internet are spent locally.
